I think this is a real treat for builders and display. I think it looks great with the pipe to the hat and the can of spinach. There are many fun things in the building and then easter eggs for everyone to find in the display.
After building for decades, I rarely choose knockoff compatible brick brands because of the difference in quality. I chose this model because of the throwback Popeye theme and the very unique look of the ship.This is the third model I have built from this particular brand, and it is superior to other knockoffs. Instruction booklets (2 for this set) are as large as a thick magazine, with full color and extreme detail showing the build---zero confusion! Parts are all in numbered bags (1-15, a reasonable amount of pieces for each). For less experienced builders, it's also good that each step is fairly simple with minimal pieces shown. Design is absolutely solid, unlike lesser brands that skimp on bricks that stabilize the finished piece. The build is not overly difficult, although the step where you have to thread a linked chain around 2 cogs was a little challenging,With assembly finished, you have first a very neat looking ship with lots of nice details and moving parts. There is a slide-out compartment to access the lower part of the main hull, anchor that retracts and drops, rowboat that lowers, engine that pops the stacks up and down, and more. And how fun that its power comes from a giant vat of spinach! Color palette is nice and there are lots of unique pieces that complement anyone's Lego collection too.I would definitely choose this brand again.
This is an awesome-looking set! Love how it looks on the bookshelf and how it reminds me of Saturday morning cartoons when I was growing up. The set is realistic looking and matches Popeye and Olive Oyl perfectly! IT was a great build, the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
